We started a blog

Well, I threatened to start a blog before Helen and I left Australia. Now, I have been reminded of that threat. So, here you go. My first post on the new blog. Pretty exciting isn't it? Hopefully this thing will grow as I learn how to use it. So stop on by every now and then to see if anything new has been posted.

Here are a few pictures. Some of which you may have seen all ready.

Wellington CBD. Our flat is just obscured by the green trees near the clock tower.

The summit of Makara Peak - the local mountain bike park.

Our new car a Toyota Carib. It looks a lot like a Subaru Outback.

Aaron - you need to stop photoshopping blue sky into the photographs....everyone knows it's always raining in New Zealand. It's Aotearoa - "Land of the Long White Cloud". Not "Land of the Long, Long Drought" - that's Australia.

Dude. There is a distinct lack of at least two things. Rain and sheep. Then there's the intangibles, like wind. I know your camera has a steady hands type thing, so I can't say if it's shaky as well.

Also, what is Shazza's little sister's name?

Aaron - Where is the bell tower in the picture. Also, if the local bridges are like the one the car is on...I'll stay in town. Good job. I always did think photography could be your second profession! Mom

Dr Chucky - it's not a porno shoot, hence the lack of sheep.

He's probably got one of those vibration reduction things on his camera, to counter the wind. And also has straightened the trees with photoshop to make it look not windy. And that is a true, blue, kiwi bridge by the way. It's made of wood and everything. That's probably a main Highway bridge....

In the first photo of Wellington - taken from the top of Mt Victoria -our flat is just behind the trees on the left hand side of the photo (not entirely sure what Aaron meant by the clock tower!)

As for the beautiful photos with blue sky and sunshine - well the camera only comes out when it looks great... Don't worry we have had plenty of cloudy, windy, rainy days already....
